About The Role:

It's a great time to join us at Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC)! ARC accelerates the growth of global air travel by delivering forward-looking travel data, flexible distribution services and other innovative industry solutions. We are a leading travel intelligence company with the world’s largest, most comprehensive global airline ticket dataset, including more than 15 billion passenger flights. By working here, you can contribute to solutions and expertise that strengthen economies and enrich lives. We think big, embrace challenges and explore new ideas to lead the way for the travel industry.

ARC is looking for a talented Senior Director, Data Platform Engineering to define and execute the strategic vision and roadmap for the enterprise data platform. In this role, you will drive the development and operation of scalable, secure, and resilient data capabilities that enable analytics, AI, and business intelligence across the organization. You will provide technology leadership for data platform engineering, establish standards and best practices, and ensure delivery excellence through effective portfolio management, governance, and oversight. You will work closely with business and technology leaders to translate business priorities into platform capabilities, drive modernization and innovation initiatives, and ensure the successful execution, performance, and evolution of the organization's data platform ecosystem.

What You'll Get to Do:

  1. Enterprise Data Platform Ownership: Set the technology vision and lead execution of the enterprise data platform portfolio to ensure delivery excellence, platform resiliency, and operational efficiency. Own and advance ARC's enterprise data platform, to ensure it is architected, built, and scaled to meet the current and future data needs of ARC's data products, analytics, and business operations — not any single product or team.  Champion modernization initiatives spanning data integration, ingestion, quality, observability, automation, and AI-ready architecture to support advanced analytics and digital objectives.
  2. Strategic Technology Partnership: Serve as the front-end technology partner to ARC's data product organization and other business stakeholders to develop strategic roadmaps to meet commercial and enterprise objectives as well as advance core platform capabilities. Partner & collaborate across business divisions, data products, and technology to ensure the data platform enables current initiatives while proactively building toward future enterprise needs.
  3. Data Engineering Capability & Workforce Strategy: Define and execute a multi-year data engineering capability and workforce strategy — including team structure, skills, and staffing — to ensure the function can meet growing enterprise demand.
  4. Team Leadership: Lead and develop data engineering organization, building a high-performing team to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  5. Champion AI Enablement: Act as a critical partner to the AI engineering teams to ensure our data infrastructure and practices are optimized to support and accelerate AI.
  6. Enhance Data Security and Governance: Partner with Corporate Security to define and implement policies and systems to safeguard data privacy, ensure compliance, and protect sensitive information. Ensure robust data access controls, audit trails, and data retention policies.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform, or enterprise data architecture roles, including 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling enterprise data platforms and leading data engineering teams.
  • Experience with modern data platform technologies (e.g., cloud data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, data lake/lakehouse architectures).
  • Proven ability to partner with business and product stakeholders to translate needs into technical roadmaps.
  • Strong workforce planning and organizational development skills.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
